About the course
The APM Project Management Qualification is a qualification aimed at project professionals who are looking to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of all key areas of project management.
The qualification is intended to help you achieve knowledge and understanding of all areas of project management that will support you when you are involved in projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects. You’ll learn how project management elements interact and how projects fit into a strategic and commercial environment.
The syllabus assesses breadth of knowledge in all areas of project management and covers knowledge areas from the APM Competence Framework including topic areas:
Life cycles
Stakeholder engagement and communication
Quality management
Risk and issue management
Content will be taught over 6 weeks, one day per week. The exam will be on the seventh day, in the dedicated exam suite within the college.
Entry Requirements
Have 2-3 years prior experience of project management or hold the Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ).
Assessment
The APM Project Management Qualification is assessed through a 2.5-hour online exam. The exam includes 40 questions worth a total of 90 marks, covering all learning objectives in the syllabus. The question types include:
Multiple response (20 questions worth 1 mark each)
Select from list (5 questions worth 2 marks each)
Short response (5 questions worth 2 marks each)
Long response (10 questions worth 5 marks each)
There is an optional break of up to 30 minutes between the two parts of the exam.
