FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Entry requirements vary between apprenticeships. All apprentices are required by law to complete English and Maths qualifications before finishing their programme. To find out the specific qualifications needed for your industry, call the Themis team on 01282 733005 or email apprenticeships@themis.ac.uk.

The length of an apprenticeship depends on the level you enter at, the qualification you achieve on completion and the industry you work in. Apprenticeships generally last between one and four years. The average apprenticeship takes around 18 months to complete.

Yes. Employers appreciate being approached directly by potential apprentices, as it demonstrates confidence, a positive attitude and drive. The Themis team will continue to match you with suitable roles at the same time, giving you the best possible chance of finding an ideal position.

Depending on your circumstances, Themis may recommend that you also apply for a full-time course at Burnley College. Apprenticeship vacancies can be competitive, so having a full-time course application in place ensures you can continue your educational journey regardless of the outcome. The Themis team will support you in finding a course that suits your goals and will work with you individually to connect you with suitable employers throughout your search.

Yes. All apprentices earn a wage from their employer throughout their programme. Many employers offer rates above the national minimum apprenticeship wage. Degree apprentices also benefit from government and employer-funded tuition, meaning you can gain a degree-level qualification debt-free.
